Hallo and welcome back to another most excellent episode, featuring more of the raunchy rawk n roll you’ve come to know and love. Hope y’all give this episode a big fat shiny ‘10’ on your scorecards, as this is my (whopping) 10th episode! Wow. Amazing. Almost a year of doing this crap already. And as the heat starts to kick up outside, the awesome tunes continue to stay HOT right here.

So I’ve discovered and re-discovered a lot of noise rock bands recently. Been going back listening to a lot of AmRep stuff, and am a big fan of Albini/Big Black/Shellac schtuff (and all points in between). If yer a fan of this stuff too, (and why wouldn’t you be?) then you’ll love New Brutalism (Knoxville), and Aussies My Disco (Melbourne), a band who recently did a split 7” with the mighty Young Widows.

And speaking of Young Widows, whom have been on heavy rotation in my daily listenings, I discovered Brain Banger (Louisville, KY) who features members of the Widows. Their full length is amazing. And comes on yellow vinyl. Hawthorne Street Records.

The Ax (Portland) deliver their debut full length on Whoa! Boat Records. Its primitive. Its heavy. Its obsessed noise rock.

Quatre Tête (Chicago) is prog and metal-infused riffs against a math-rock backdrop. Their full length is on Sickroom Records, and features cover art from rock poster god, Jay Ryan. Neat-o.

JJ Paradise Players Club (NY) are heavy. And nasty. They feature members of Unsane, Glazed Baby, Shiner, Kill Van Kull and more, with heavy emphasis on the Unsane. Dead Teenager records.

And more heavy stuff. Gojira (France) are on Prosthetic records. METAL!! And, The Capricorns (London, England) on Rise Above Records. This is what Pelican should be doing.

And of course the show wouldn’t be complete without including some garage schlock, some old punk, and a set of insane, crazy gibble gobble from the 50s and 60s… Stay thirsty my friends. R.I.P. John Hughes.
