Alright you turkeynecks! Gather around! Staticfraction07 comin at you just in time for the weekend. Another rockin’ bag of tunes turned all the way up to Awesome! Heh! This episode features..well, more the usual hanky panky. A toe-tappin, finger-snappin, head-boppin mix-o garage, punk, and metal, with bits of indie, noise and a good time booze party thrown in for good measure.

Nobunny plays 60s inspired lo-fi garage, new from last years 2008 Love Visions record. If you aren’t instantly in love the second this hits your stereo, I’m afraid there isn’t a fun bone in your body or a human heart in your chest.

2009 has given us solid records so far. The Marked Men’s (Ghosts) record is good ol fashioned punk the way you like it. Fast, snotty, loud! Obits’ (I Blame You) is new on SubPop and features music and artwork from Rick Froberg (Hot Snakes, Drive Like Jehu). Similar to Hot Snakes but..not. More grown-up maybe? Just check it out. And the new Kylesa (Static Tensions) is HEEEAAVVYY! Pummeling, aggressive, & brutal. Check ‘em out on the road too, opening for Mastodon.

And speaking of shows, I recently saw my friends The Alkaline Trio for a couple shows here in the Windy City. They did an amazing version of Nomeansno’ Two Lips, Two Lungs, and One Tongue. Since I hadn’t listened to them in a while, I had to revisit, and of course throw a song on staticfraction for you to enjoy and rediscover. Until next time…you stay classy, friends….
